Mission Ahava: Making Changes in Brazil

Brazil has a vibrant culture full of affectionate people and breathtaking views. But in the midst of the beauty there are socioeconomic challenges, significantly affecting the country’s most vulnerable at-risk children. Though the exact number is unknown, it is believed that as many as 8 million children are living or spending the majority of their time on the streets. Many are abused, neglected and forced into child labor, drug and sex trafficking.

Mission Ahava is aiding in the rescue and protection of these children living in dangerous situations. At the Children’s Home, the kids have a safe place to live, grow and thrive. Along with food, clothing, and shelter, they’re encouraged to pursue their dreams and sharpen their talents and abilities.

At the two Children’s Community Centers kids come Monday through Friday before and after school. They receive a hot meal and participate in sports, music and art. These two life-giving centers are environments of hope and joy in the communities they serve.

The vocational school gives educational opportunities to teens and adults that wouldn’t otherwise have the chance to pursue a career of their choice. It gives them a competitive edge in a difficult job market. At the center of it all, each child, teen and adult is shown the Love of Jesus and taught about the great purpose He has placed inside of each of them.

Mission Ahava: Making A Difference In Cambodia

Cambodia is a country rich in culture with a long history of struggle and conflict. Located in Southeast Asia, this predominantly Buddhist kingdom is still reeling from the effects of an invasion by the Khmer Rouge, where 1.5 million people died from brutality, starvation and execution.

Today, almost half of Cambodia's population is under 24 years old and its citizens are frequent targets of forced labor and sex trafficking. Adults and children alike are routinely sold into slavery, at times with the knowledge and complicity of their families.

In 2019 Mission Ahava began funding a safe home for girls who have been identified as targets of human trafficking. Today, they’re given love, shelter, food and education because of the generosity of people around the world just like you.
